  I had worked with Joyce once before my wedding, and from that interaction, I knew immediately that Joyce was who I wanted to do my makeup for my destination wedding. And how right I was! I’m not a good event planner or an extrovert, so I was extremely anxious going into my big day, but not only did Joyce ease my fears with her warm, comforting demeanor, she managed to transform my rather frizzy and fine hair into a magical crown of glossy waves and braids. Her makeup skills are unparalleled—she made sure I still looked like myself, but the best version. My skin and eyes were glowing. I got married on the beach in hot, humid Costa Rica, but Joyce made sure that my hair and makeup stayed intact and perfect throughout it all—ceremony, banquet, dancing, and get this, jumping into the pool at the very end, dress and all. My makeup and hair somehow came out of that looking exactly like when the day began. How?? Joyce is an amazing artist and an even kinder person. I was so honored to work with her, and to this day, I have never looked better than I did that day on the beach.
